The Football Debt Recovery (FDR) scheme is necessary when players leave clubs without paying their debts, or clubs fail to pay debts owed to their leagues. The scheme is used to try and recoup the money owed to both clubs and leagues.

Below is the process that must be followed in order to make a claim. There must be a minimum debt of £25 for a claim to be made, except in cases relating to disciplinary monies.
Stage 1
Club/League gives notice in writing to the individual/s concerned with a breakdown of the amount owed and why. Correspondence must provide a date which payment must be made by.
Stage 2
If payment is not received by the date above, the club/league can submit an application to Northants FA, via the application form. This should be made within 28 days of payment being requested and within 112 days of the debt being incurred.
Stage 3
Letter sent to the individual/s by Northants FA, giving them 21 days to make payment directly to Northants FA, not the club or league. An admin fee is also added.
Stage 4
If the individual/s does not do this, they will become suspended from all football until the debt has been paid.
Stage 5
Once the debt has been paid, Northants FA will contact the Club/League to reimburse them via BACS.
Please be aware that we are unable to collect debts from any player under the age of 18
