The Football Foundation hold a 3G pitch register, which is available at https://footballfoundation.org.uk/3g-pitch-register

The aim of the 3G pitch register is to ensure that pitches that are used for affiliated football in England are of the required quality, that the surfaces are installed correctly, and that they provide safe and satisfactory playing environments throughout their service lives.

Does my pitch have to be on the FA 3G pitch register?

Any 3G pitch to be used for FA affiliated football in England must be on the 3G pitch register. If you play a match on a pitch that is not on the register you are at risk of the league or competition imposing sanctions. Training can take place on a pitch that is not on the 3G pitch register, however it is always recommended that you satisfy yourself that the pitch is safe to use by carrying out any necessary risk assessments.

Can any artificial turf pitch be added to the 3G pitch register?

No, only artificial turf pitches specifically designed for football use can be tested and included on the 3G pitch register

Where can I see all the 3G pitches in Northamptonshire?

Only 3G pitches on the register can be used for affiliated matches. If you're looking for a venue for training or to use casually then other pitches can be used. You can find these using PitchFinder - http://pitchfinder.org.uk
